Der selbstfahrende Niederbordwagen ist ideal geeignet, um bei Lokomotiven, die keine Motorisierung besitzen, im Verbund den Antrieb zu ersetzen. Die DB hat zwischen 1958 und 1967 mehr als 14 200 2-achsige Flachwagen mit Seitenwandklappen und klappbaren Stirnborden beschafft. Sie dienten zur Beförderung von Fahrzeugen, z. B. Kaelble Zugmaschinen KV 633/632, und von Gütern mit großem Raumbedarf. Die Wagen ohne Seitenrungen wurden ab 1965 als Kls bezeichnet. Als Modell können sie von Epoche III VI eingesetzt werden. Eigengewicht 12 100 kg, max. Lademasse 27,5 t, LüP 13 860 mm. Der patentierte Unterflurantrieb, ähnlich wie beim ROBEL, ist der flachen Bauweise des Niederbordwagens optimal angepasst.
