Die 8 Eingänge des Decoders sind zur Gleisbesetztmeldung oder zum Auslösen von Memory- bzw. IB-Switch-Schaltfunktionen und Fahrstraßen im Commander direkt an die zu überwachenden Gleisabschnitte anschließbar. Integrierte elektronische Gleisbesetztmelder registrieren jedes stromaufnehmende Fahrzeug (Lokomotiven, beleuchtete oder mit Widerstands-Radsätzen ausgestattete Waggons) auf diesen isolierten Abschnitten. Dazu wird der Mittelleiter bei Dreileiter- bzw. ein Schienenprofil bei Zweileitersystemen isoliert. Optokoppler im Modul erhöhen die Betriebssicherheit.
