Das Modell gibt die markanten Formen des Vorbildes maßstabsgerecht wieder. Technisch ist das neue PIKO-Modell am Puls der Zeit und verfügt über seidenweiche Fahreigenschaften, gute Zugkraft und serienmäßig eingebauten Lichtwechsel. Dieser ist wie die Beleuchtungen in Führerstand und Maschinenraum in modernster LED-Technik ausgeführt. Die Wechselstromversione der Lok ist ab Werk mit einem passenden Decoder ausgestattet und für die Nachrüstung mit Sound vorbereitet.
